Management Accountant – solar asset management

Management Accountant  – solar energy asset management, London. United Kingdom, salary to £45,000 + bonus + good benefits

This is a great opportunity for a finance professional with solid experience of VAT and corporation tax to join a fast growing, international solar energy asset management business overseeing the management of 80+ Special Purpose Vehicles (“SPVs”)

Key responsibilities 

You’ll play an important compliance role within the finance team, and undertake 
key responsibilities with minimum supervision: 
 

  • Corporation Tax Lead (supported by an Accounts Assistant)
    • Liaising directly with the external tax agents
  • VAT Lead
    • Preparation of quarterly/monthly group & individual VAT returns for 80+ Special Purpose Vehicles (“SPVs”) in both operation and construction phases & 5+ Holding Companies that hold the investment in the SPVs
  • Audit
    • Assist in the preparation of FRS 102 compliant Financial Statements
    • Review of year end Audit Management Accounts and supporting documentation (prepared by Accounts Assistants) 

 

  • Monthly Management Account Review
    • Review of Month End Management Accounts for a caseload of 20+ SPVs

 

  • Invoice & Payment Approval 
    • Review 20+ SPVs supplier invoices for entry into ledger (entered by the Accounts Payable Sub-Team)

 

  • To support and/or lead on project work and across the other finance functions as and when required 

About you
The ideal candidate will possess the below competencies:

  • Solid experience in a senior accountancy role with a focus on VAT & Corporation Tax
  • Qualified or pert qualified accountant (ACCA/ACA/CIMA)
  • Working knowledge of Xero Software (or similar cloud based)
  • Financial statement software (preferable Caseware)
  • Intermediate EXCEL including VLOOKUPS, Pivots, SUMIFS etc 
  • Fluent in English
  • Ambitious, confident and self-motivated
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced, high intensity environment
  • Systematic and methodological approach, with the ability to multi-task, and prioritise work streams  
  • Legally entitled to work in the UK 

 
Remuneration
Remuneration and benefits for the role will include:

  • £40-45K basic salary, plus eligibility for a discretionary performance-related annual bonus
