Business Development Manager – Commercial solar PPAs – home-based, covering South England, OTE (£80,000 +) with base salary £40,000 – £50,000 + car allowance + uncapped commission
The UK’s most innovative clean technology investment firm is expanding their commercial solar team.
You’ll help businesses benefit from long term power purchase agreements (PPAs) that significantly reduce their energy bills.
We’re looking for sophisticated B2B sales professionals who can initiate sales and articulate the benefits of these initiatives at board level and influence busy decision makers.
The product offering is very compelling, but is fairly complex, so we’re looking for high levels of numeracy and excellent communications and presentation skills.
We’re interested in applications from well-rounded business professionals with high levels of drive, and a friendly consultative approach. A background in B2B financial services would be extremely interesting, especially if it’s coupled with commercial solar PV knowledge or the UK’s renewable energy incentives.
It's very likely you have well developed contacts in a defined market vertical, and or, geography that will allow you to develop a sales pipeline very quickly.
Ideally you will be based in a central location convenient to cover the south of England,
The company is doing very well, currently small, but growing rapidly and has a very large fund (£100M) to deploy to support UK solar projects.
They’ve identified a niche in the investment community, raised a fund and created a clever product offering that ultimately benefits all actors in the transaction – the investor, the customer business and the installation partner.
The company funds a free solar PV system that generates electrical energy on site, which is supplied to the incumbent business at very attractive rates via a PPA.
You’ll target commercial rooftop owners and also installation partners to explain the advantages of working in partnership and make sales. You will meet potential partners and clients by growing, maintaining, and leveraging your network and cold calling.
- Basic salary commensurate with experience and ability – range £40,000 – £50,000 p.a.
- OTE £80,000 with uncapped commission scheme
- Car allowance (£5,000 p.a)
- 23 days holiday
You’ll have a sales target, but a fairly high degree of autonomy and a lot of highly professional support when you need it.
